From Western Sydney roots to hands-on repairs
I grew up in Western Sydney, where you learn early to sort your own mess. My dad was an electrician. Always tinkering in the shed or wrestling something under the house. Swearing, grinning, covered in dust. That’s where I reckon I got it from. Not the swearing, the respect for proper work. Done once, done right.
After school, I went straight into the trades. Bit of carpentry, mechanics, general maintenance. Gave everything a red hot go. But the first time I fixed a battered roller door on a site in Marrickville, something clicked.

Starting out one job, one family at a time
My first callout was a double garage in Bankstown. Door off its rails, spring gone, two kids stuck inside and a stressed-out mum pacing the driveway. Took three hours, plenty of sweat, and a few deep breaths, but I got it done. Smooth as silk. As I packed up, the mum gave me a hug and said, “You’re the first tradie I didn’t have to chase.”
That stuck with me.
I kept going. Rain, shine, late nights, long drives across Sydney. Bent frames, snapped springs, motors that’d carked it. I even slept in the ute once in Parramatta after a midnight fix. Would I do it again? Bloody oath.
As things picked up, I brought on a couple of top blokes Noah and Roy. Both solid techs with a sharp eye. Taught ’em the same way I learnt. Take your time, do it proper, and leave things better than you found ’em.
