Players to Watch
In the 2017 season, the Matt Corral Panthers finished with a 7-4 record and made it to the second round of the playoffs. Led by first-year head coach Todd Tucker, this team is full of young talent who are looking to make a name for themselves in the competitive Texas high school football scene. Here are three players to watch on this year’s Panthers squad.
1. Justin Garcia
Justin Garcia is one of the most explosive players on the roster and will be leading the team in rushing yards this season. Garcia was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in May of this year and will be a valuable asset on both offense and defense for Tucker’s squad.
2. David Little
David Little is another standout player on the Panther squad and should see extensive action at quarterback this season. Little led his team to a state championship as a sophomore last year and looks poised for another successful campaign in 2017.
3. Levi Suggs III
Levi Suggs III is one of Tucker’s more versatile players, having played both defensive back and wide receiver during his career thus far. Suggs III brings plenty of experience to Tucker’s secondary, which will be key if they hope to compete at a high level this season.
